Unite Professionals Case Manager completes incredible charity cycle ride

Claudette Joint, a Unite Professionals case manager, is recovering after completing an amazing charity cycle ride, from Grantham to Edinburgh.

Claudette was part of a team of cyclists that set off on the 300-mile ride from Lincolnshire to Midlothian, and completed the arduous journey in just 29 hours, including food stops!

Between them, the team has raised more than £19,000 for charities in and near Grantham, including Inspire+, the Children’s Bereavement Centre and Trust House Lincolnshire.

Speaking after the event, Claudette said: “For me, the cycle ride was all about overcoming a challenge that I thought would be impossible and proving that you can keep going even when you feel that you can’t!

“The encouragement of our smaller cycling group, the camaraderie of the entire G2E group and the invaluable support of the food/transport/mechanical crew kept me moving forward.

“I was inspired by the friendship, confidence, encouragement and determination I experienced and witnessed on the ride.”

She said they are now planning their next cycling destination: “Now, just two weeks after the event, we are planning the next adventure and the conversation in my house has been around where we could cycle to next and how far we could get the children to cycle in a day!”

Congratulations to Claudette and the rest of the G2E cycling team on a monumental effort and achievement from everyone at Unite Professionals!

You can still make donations to the team via this link:  https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/g2e-2019 – every little bit is appreciated, so why not help them hit their £27,000 target?
