Unite Professionals Host 2021 Annual Conference

Day one of the Unite Professionals Conference has finally arrived!. This years theme is The Art and Science of Case Management and we are delighted to be welcoming Richard Kayser of Irwin Mitchell and Vanessa Jamieson and Darren Bucys of RSA Insurance to our virtual stage this morning.

Our annual conference is an important event in the Unite Professionals Calendar and a key point in being able to deliver our promise of providing our Case Managers and staff with opportunities for ongoing learning..

Richard Kayser

Partner, Irwin Mitchell

This years conference has the objective of providing a deeper understanding of the roles that different parties play in the progression of a personal injury case. Over the course of the first morning we will be looking at the processes involved in engaging an expert witness, joint settlement meetings from the perspectives of a defence lawyer and the process of social care assessment leading to the award of direct payment hours and how it all fits into the case management journey.

Vanessa Jamieson

Technical Unit Leader, RSA Insurance

Despite life returning to some form of normality in the wake of the global pandemic, it has been recognised, acknowledged and respected that many are cautious about attending large group events and with that in mind we have worked hard to provide an online event that is more compact (to avoid the inevitable Zoom fatigue) but will certainly leave our Case Managers and staff feeling like they have spent their time online well.

Darren Bucys

Technical Performance Manager, RSA Insurance

The Billy Chip Foundation®

We are also thrilled to be welcoming Jon Hope of the Billy Chip Foundation® who will be joining us to disuss the foundations charitable work with homeless people in the South West of England.

The Registered charity was set up on 2018 to continue the legacy of Billy Abernethy-Hope, a twenty two year old ambulance driver who was the inspiration and idea behind BillyChip which partners with cafes and hot beverage outlets to provide a homeless person with a warm drink.

As part of our conference package, each delegate will be provided with a BillyChip to pass on to a homeless person and to create awareness of the foundation in their local areas to help this Charity become nationwide.

The BillyChip Foundation® fits in with the Unite Professionals ethos of helping those in needs and sits alongside our other charitable partners, Hair Cuts for Homeless and The Trussell Trust.
