Keeping fit and staying connected: UPL’s virtual wellbeing programme

The UPL management team is very passionate about encouraging wellbeing for not only our clients but also our case management team.

Therefore, we decided to develop a wellbeing programme during the last few months of lockdown in order to ensure the team keeps in touch and has the opportunity to try different exercises whilst working from home. We’ve had a great turnout and incredible responses from our amazing team of case managers!

Since June, the UPL team has participated in weekly UPLifting 45-minute yoga and body combat sessions via Youtube and Zoom calls.

Body combat was a massive hit, with 100% of those who were able to participate saying that it helped to make them feel healthier. 75% of the team who tried the yoga classes said it made them feel healthier.

Over one third of the people who started yoga with the UPL training programme said they intended to join a yoga course post-lockdown, and two thirds of ‘body-combatters’ would like to continue attending similar classes.

In our recent survey, 87% of participants said that the sessions had made them feel more connected to their colleagues!

We truly value the sense of community within Unite Professionals and are pleased that we have been able to maintain the team bond during lockdown.

We’ve also gathered for complimentary wine and cheese tastings virtually to keep connected and enjoy a good laugh with our colleagues. Cheers to the UPL team and keep up the great work!
